While everyone will be spending the next two weeks counting down to Christmas – us included! – there’s another exciting holiday just around the corner: New Year’s! The ball dropping, champagne flowing, parties all over the world cheering the change to 2014 – we can hardly wait! And we’re not the only ones. Salt Lake City is already prepping for the fifth annual EVE gathering and just recently announced some of its plans for people living in Salt Lake City looking to celebrate NYE with their friends, family and neighbors.

According to The Salt Lake Tribune, this year’s EVE 5.0 will see the return of the fan-favorite beach balls at the Salt Palace Convention Center after a hiatus last year. Okay, so maybe it doesn’t sound so exciting on paper, but it’s pretty wild to see in person. Courtesy of BounceTown, the convention center’s ball room will be flooded with over 2,000 beach balls! Salt Palace will also have indoor and outdoor stages set up for live bands and DJs.

Of course, Salt Palace isn’t the only place participating. The three-day New Year’s party will see a total of nine downtown venues hosting their own celebrations, ranging from free Utah Jazz tickets to a Comic Con-sponsored costume contest to live music from acts like Smallpools and Beyond 5.

Eight hotels throughout the city will also be offering special EVE hospitality packages, giving you the chance to stay downtown as late as you want without having to worry about making the trek home after the party has ended.

With each year that passes, EVE becomes more of a national festival, but it’s still primarily a hotspot for SLC residents. If you’d like to get in on the ground floor for this year’s celebration, hit up a Salt Lake City real estate agent at Muve Real Estate for available listings on homes for sale around town.
