According to The Salt Lake Tribune, a whopping 83 percent of chief information officers (CIOs) in town are looking to beef up their IT staffs in the first half of 2014, a huge jump up from last year’s 74 percent.
“Growing business activity in Salt Lake City is driving the demand for IT professionals,” said Justin Rohatinsky, SLC branch manager for Robert Half Technology, in an official statement. “In particular, software and healthcare companies are seeking professionals skilled in web development, software upgrades and network administration.”
A separate study found that 92 percent of of Salt Lake’s CIOs are optimistic about how their companies will grow next year, and 75 percent added that they were looking to invest in new IT projects.
Bottom line: If you work in IT, or are looking to start a career in it, there’s no better place for you than Salt Lake City! Not only are IT jobs going to be hiring left and right next year, but the town itself is just the ideal place for young professionals to call home.
