Want a free iPad? Ride the UTA!

Energy efficiency and living green are some of the hottest trends across the country right now, and it’s pretty clear why: You’re helping the environment and saving money in the long run. What’s not to like? Seems like a win-win in our book.

Public transportation is a huge part of that too. After all, the more people ride mass transit, the fewer cars you have on the road and the less gas you’re pumping into the air. But for all the good it does, let’s be honest, bus lines and trains aren’t always the most reliable ways to get around. But while people living in Salt Lake City already get to enjoy some of the nation’s better choices for public transit, sometimes it takes a little more to sweeten the deal. Luckily, the Utah Transit Authority (UTA) has you covered.

From now until April, the UTA will enroll any college student in town who takes at least 10 rides into a contest. What’s the prize? Free iPad!

“To enter, students need to ride UTA trains and buses with their student pass,” writes local news publication Desert News. “Once a student has made at least 10 round trips during the month, he or she will be automatically entered into the giveaway. The giveaway is designed to encourage students to opt for public transit when commuting to campus.”

So it’s good for the environment, cheaper than a car and could potentially net you a free iPad? This is a no-brainer.

This is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to life in SLC. If you’d like to learn more – or better yet, experience it for yourself – talk to a Salt Lake City real estate agent at Muve Real Estate Group and check out some great available homes for sale.
