If you love to ski or board, you’ll find few places better than Salt Lake City. Never mind all the top-notch restaurants, shops, schools and concerts that living in Salt Lake City already affords, there are plenty of nearby resorts up in the mountains that offer some of the best slopes around. But it’s probably not much of a perk if you don’t know how to ski in the first place.

Luckily, you aren’t alone – and SLC is pretty well aware of it! Which is why every January, as part of national “Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month,” there are a handful of resorts around offering discounted passes and lessons for first-timers. If you’ve always wanted to ski but have been putting it off for whatever reason, turn that around by checking out one of these programs:

  • Ski Utah Passport: These season-long tickets are a great way for kids to learn the ropes. Available to fifth-grade students, the Ski Utah Passport allows kids to ski for free at any of the 14 resorts for the whole season. There’s also an option available for sixth-graders, but they’re only good for one day per resort instead of being unlimited.
  • StartNOW: Over at the Park City Mountain Resort, StartNOW comes with four days of lessons and five days of lift tickets and rental gear for a daily price tag of $40. Not only is this way more affordable than usual, but it also groups students together so that you’ll be in similar company when you first start out on the powder.

Whether you’re a veteran skier or just starting out, SLC has plenty to offer. For available houses in Salt Lake City for sale, talk to a Salt Lake City real estate agent at the Muve Real Estate Group today!
