One more round of ski resorts worth a look

Another Christmas has come and gone, and with it comes that rush of disappointment. You know what I mean, after the gifts have been exchanged, the dinner eaten, good times had by all… It’s a great day, but once the 26th rolls around, it brings that “okay, back to normal life” feeling that just kinda leaves you feeling deflated.

But why should it? Christmas may be over, but the holiday season isn’t! There’s one more big one – New Year’s Eve – just around the corner and we’re still in the dead of winter! Which, for people living in Salt Lake City, means plenty of fresh powder to tear up. Whether you lean more toward skiing or boarding, there are plenty of places to cut loose no more than an hour away from SLC.

So chase those post-Christmas blues away with one more look at some of the best and closest ski resorts in the Salt Lake area:

Deer Valley

This place has a reputation for luxury, having been ranked the number one ski resort on the continent for five years running by readers of SKI Magazine, from 2007 to 2011. With tons of lifts, great dining and lodging choices and exceptional customer service, Deer Valley offers plenty of runs to make tracks on and a host of other perks to keep you comfortable afterward. Be warned though: It’s for skiers only!

Sundance

Unlike a lot of major SLC resorts, which can draw in big crowds, Sundance is a smaller, more intimate skiing hotspot. At only 450 acres, Sundance provides some quiet and relaxing opportunities for skiing or boarding, with tons of great dinner options available nearby.
